Yorkshire Cajun and Zydeco Festival last weekend was a blast, we sang, we danced, we played……we even hung around in a disused gas station (all in the name of a good band photo!).
It’s always a delight to see friends from all over the country and Europe, both musicians and dancers, and to make new friends too.
We helped give a Cajun education to the residents of Malton, by leading a parade around the Town’s Market Square in Mardi Gras costumes, before we headed on stage to give a foot stomping Cajun and Zydeco set. Thanks to everyone who helped make the Festival a joy to attend.
So what have we been up to of late?
We’ve been working Andrew and Mervyn hard learning our repertoire, playing some lovely venues whilst rehearsing some new songs (with some rather lovely three part harmonies going on). Rather excitingly we’ve been letting the creative juices flow and writing some original songs and tunes which are sounding fantastic. Hopefully you’ll be hearing some of our new material very soon, with a recording in the not too distant future as well!
This weekend we are packing our bags and heading north to the North Yorkshire Cajun and Zydeco Festival in Malton. It’s Mardi Gras time again at the Yorkshire Festival so we’ll be dressed up for the occasion, you won’t fail to spot Ian and Cheryl so do stop us and say ‘hello’, just don’t let the Capitaine see you!
